Barley - Adopted

Barley is a one-year-old silly red boy. He has a docked tail and natural ears, which are rather small (and cute!). He hasn't had much in the way of training, but seems to be sweet tempered. In his foster home he has been playing with several medium to large dogs. He has been around a Chihuahua and had behaved well, although he was on leash at the time. He will be cat tested soon. He has also been playing with foster mom’s 8-year-old daughter, but he was also around a 5 year old. We believe he would do well around larger children. He is too bouncy for toddlers. Barley seems to love all people. He does need an owner who is committed to training since he hasn't had much in his first year of life, but he learns quickly.

Barley was taken to the shelter by his owners because he was “too noisy.” They would leave him in the back yard all day and expect him not to bark. Complaints by neighbors and a fine resulted in barley being dumped at the shelter. It's better this way, because they didn't deserve such a sweet boy anyway.

Visitors are always welcome, by appointment only.
