Sterling

Update--Sterling has been having a lot of fun lately. He has been going out-and-about with some of our volunteers. He has been to the feed store, the pet supermarket, and other places where he has encountered people and other dogs. He has been a perfect gentleman. As you can see from his picture, he loves to ride, and is well behaved in a vehicle. He is always very excited to go, but calms right down once he gets in the car.

This striking boy is Sterling! He comes to us from a local shelter, where he was brought as a stray. He is an albino Doberman. He is cream with pure white markings and ice blue eyes. He has a docked tail and cropped ears. He is between 3 and 5 years old. He’s a little thin, but we are fattening him up. He is a sweet, affectionate boy who loves people and (so far) likes other dogs; however, he is not safe around cats. Sterling is a “Special Needs” dog on account of his albinism, which will require a little extra care. He is sensitive to bright light, so he should have shade available outdoors or he should be provided with doggie sunglasses such as “Doggles.” He has a thick coat, but he will need sunscreen on his nose and ears. Also, he may be partially deaf. If he is, he deals with it well. He is able to hear some sounds.

Visitors are always welcome, by appointment only.

NOTE: An adoption application MUST be submitted in order to be considered to adopt a dog through our program.
