Callie was taken in
by some nice folks who didn’t want to see her living in a basement. Her
saviors love her and would be willing to keep her; unfortunately, they
live in an apartment and don’t have room. Callie is red, with a docked
tail and cropped ears. She is about 6 years old. She was quite
overweight when she arrived, due to lack of exercise, an undiagnosed
thyroid problem, and a fondness for pig ears. She is now on the Newt
Memorial Green Bean diet, and is receiving thyroid medication. She has
been feeling energetic lately and is getting lots of exercise running
and playing. She's lost quite a bit of weight and now looks like a
Doberman. She will continue to slim down to about 65-70 pounds—a nice
medium size for a Dobergirl! Callie seems to like just about everything,
including cats, kids, and other dogs.
Visitors are always welcome, by appointment only.
NOTE: An adoption application MUST be submitted in order
to be considered to adopt a dog through our program.
