Visitors / Appointments
Visitors are always welcome at Southwest Ohio Doberman Rescue, BY APPOINTMENT ONLY.
You must first fill out an adoption application (you can submit it online, or print it out, complete it, and mail it to us).
Upon receipt and review of your application and references, a volunteer will contact you in order to make an appointment to visit your home and do a home check. If it is determined that you are a good candidate to adopt a Doberman from Southwest Ohio Doberman Rescue, we will invite you to make an appointment to meet and spend time with some of the available dogs.
We encourage your visit to the Rescue, as well as the entire adoption process, to be a total family involvement, commitment and responsibility.
Children - Because this can be an exciting, but stressful, time for everyone involved - families, volunteer staff and more importantly, the dogs - we require that when visiting the rescue, all children must be closely supervised. We require that children remain quiet and do not run around the facility. This will make the visitation more enjoyable, as well as less stressful. Due to the length of time you may be visiting with the dogs, it can be very boring for young children. Please plan ahead and have quiet activities the children can do on their own. This will help ensure a safe and pleasant experience for all.
Other dogs - When bringing your dog along on your visit, we do require that you keep your dog on leash and under control at all times. We also ask that you help maintain the facility and grounds by cleaning up after your dog.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in this matter.
